Moved an NVMe to a different M.2 slot to free up SATA ports. Booted to no internet. The cause was three layers deep and the error message was useless.

dying 12tb hdd 💀
Proxmox said the disk passed SMART. Scrutiny said it was failing. The dd zero-fill was supposed to settle it. The drive ended up worse than when I started.
